Sandra (she/her/ella) is a doctoral intern at the University of Miami Counseling Center. She is a Counseling Psychology doctoral candidate with a Spanish bilingual concentration at Columbia University's Teachers College. She received her bachelor's in psychology from Cornell College and her master's in counseling psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia. Sandra has clinical experience across various settings, including community mental health, inpatient units, crisis services, and school/college settings. Her therapeutic approach is grounded in social justice and multiculturalism, integrating psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral, and mindfulness practices. Sandra emphasizes collaboration in treatment and tailors her approach to meet each client's unique needs. Her clinical interests include racial/ethnic identity development, work with sexual minorities, trauma, mood/anxiety disorders, and engagement with the campus community.

Grevelin Ulerio

Grevelin (she/her/ella) is a doctoral intern at the University of Miami Counseling Center. She is a Ph.D candidate in Clinical-Community Psychology at DePaul University, received her bachelor's degree in psychology and Africana studies from Bucknell University, and her master’s in clinical psychology from DePaul University. Grevelin has experience working in community mental health, outpatient, high school, and college settings providing individual, couples, and group therapy. She views therapy as a collaborative and healing space where clients are empowered and supported. Grevelin approaches therapy from an intersectional lens, placing importance on context and culture. She uses an integrative model of care that is person-centered and strength-based, tailoring intervention for individual client needs. Grevelin has worked with a wide range of identities and presenting concerns. Her areas of clinical interest include mood/anxiety disorders, life transitions, ethnoracial identity development, burnout, relationship conflict, trauma, and group therapy. Grevelin is bilingual, offering services in both English and Spanish.

Shirnelle Wilks

Shirnelle is a doctoral intern at the University of Miami Counseling Center and is in her final year of the Counseling Psychology PhD program at Auburn University. Shirnelle completed her bachelors degree at the University of Miami. She also received her Master’s degree in School and Mental Health Counseling from the University of Pennsylvania and worked in various college and university settings before pursuing her PhD. In her clinical work, she primarily uses an emotion focused approach to assist clients in understanding how to navigate their experiences and help guide them towards wellness. She also integrates different approaches including Person-Centered and Cognitive-Behavioral therapy to help address the nuanced concerns that clients may present. Her clinical areas of interest include anxiety and depression that derives from acculturation/acculturative stress, multicultural identity development, and family of origin concerns. She integrates both research and practice with her research interests focusing on acculturation processes for immigrant origin and international populations.
